Annaya Baynes (they/she) is a lover of words and film. Their day job is Community Coordinator at Girls Write Now, where she writes curriculum to teach the next generation how to write and analyze media. They recently graduated with an M.A. in Cinema Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, so they’ve probably seen more movies than you. She also holds a B.A. in English and French from Spelman College.
In her free time, Annaya does freelance writing often at the intersection of Blackness, queerness, and media analysis. They are also a wormfluencer for Bookworm Reads and a Volunteer Case Manager for the New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF).
